As the First Nation people settled in different parts of Canada, numerous tribes developed each with their own culture, language, traditions and legends. The tribes are classified culturally and linguistically according to the different provinces they inhabit.
The major tribes living on the Plains were Blackfoot, Plains Cree, Tsuu T'ina, Dene, Ojibwa, Danezaa, Assiniboine, Sioux etc.
